Hello!

Hi,
#HowTo dye your hair (for the first time) I am a sort of expert now- seeing as I've dyed my hair 8 times now.
If you are dying your hair for the first time I recommend trying a semi-permanent colourant. See below for what I recommend:
Your hair colour:
Blonde- Lightest: Gold blondes, lightest brown
Blonde- Light: Try light browns, darker blondes, gold blondes
Blonde- Dark: Try light browns, medium browns, gold blondes, tints*
Redhead: Try light browns, dark blondes, browns, nothing too dark
Brunettes: Try deep browns, blacks, tints*
Darker brunettes: Try blacks, tints*
Black: Tints*
Your skin colour:
Very Pale: Gold blondes, darker blondes NO TINTS
Pale: Lightest brown, gold blondes, dark blondes NO TINTS
Medium: Light brown, dark blondes, tints*
Tan: Medium browns, deep browns, tints*, black
Dark: Deep browns, darkest brown, tints*, black
Darkest: Darkest browns, black, tints*
*Tinting for the first time is quite good. I tinted my hair a colour called "Black Cherry" by L'Oreal Casting Crème Gloss. Deep purples, dark pinks, dark cherry are all good first options. But these options may not be the best for pale skin.
Which brand?
I recommend L'Oreal Casting Crème Gloss. It is a great smelling and non-damaging colourant. I really liked it and it's a non drip formula. It lasts for 28 washes.
I have never really drifted away from L'Oreal products. Although I have heard from friends that the Schwarzkopf Live Colour XXL isn't brilliant but I have yet to try.
Just make sure that the product doesn't contain ammonia (which is gathered from wee/urine) and doesn't contain bleach. Watch out for peroxide too.
You need old clothing and an old towel. Other useful things include an old hairbrush/ wide tooth comb, old clips, foil, Vaseline.
Before you start:
1) Wash and dry your hair- read the instructions with the hair dye. It may be that you need more wet hair so just towel dry your hair
2) Prepare your bathroom- cover any surfaces with newspaper and remove rugs etc.
3) If you want, apply Vaseline along your hairline and forehead, even your ears if you want. The Vaseline acts as a protective layer against staining. After dyeing your hair you can wipe the Vaseline off.
Hello!
Today's #HowTo will tell you how to clean makeup brushes. Enjoy!
What you'll need:
- Antibacterial washing up liquid/dishwasher soap (e.g. fairy liquid)
- Extra Virgin olive oil
- Conditioner (unscented if possible)
- A flat dish
- An old towel
Cleaning your makeup brushes is very important because if you apply makeup with a dirty brush it can give you breakouts- and to be honest- it isn't very hygienic. You are essentially popping all the oil and dirt from your face, back on!
This method is very cheap and most people are able to access these items at home, or if not, at your local supermarket
Aim to wash your brushes monthly. Some prefer daily, but I think it's a bit of a waste of dishwasher soap and oil.
1) Squeeze a generous amount (maybe 6/7 tbsp) of dishwasher soap (make sure it isn't bleach!!!) into your flat dish. Make sure there is space for a little more liquid in the dish.
2) Then pour about 2 tbsp of oil into the same dish- you don't have to be exact.
3) Take the dish to a nearby tap. Make sure you have some space to place brushes about. Make sure the sink is clear of bowls and plates.
4) If you want, give the brushes a quick rinse under some lukewarm water. The water shouldn't be hot, just warm. Never rinse with the bristles of the brush facing up otherwise the water will loosen the glue that holds the bristles in. Instead, rinse the brush at a 45 degree angle, facing in a downwards direction.
5) Then dip the brush in the dish and give it a quick stir so that the brush can collect a reasonable amount of liquid. The antibacterial soap gets all dirt off and the oil gives it its softness back.
6) Then move the brush in a quick circular motion round and round the palm of your hand. Use the same force on your hand as you would on your face. It should start to make a foam.
7) When the foam starts to be clear and you're happy, rinse the brush as you would in step 4. Squeeze the brush head to get the foam and soap out, again in a downwards motion.
8) As soon as the brush is free of soap, you may use a conditioner on it. Splodge a little in the palm of your hand and work it into the brush. Leave the conditioner in for 5-10 minutes.
9) Rinse again like you did in step 4 but with cool water.
10) Place the brush on the towel and wait for it to dry. Don't store it upwards other wise excess water will run down the neck of the brush and loosen the glue.
11) Voila! Clean brushes!
